Description

We report on our recent measurement of the electron’s electric dipole moment using a cold beam of ThO molecules, improving upon the sensitivity of the best previous result by an order of magnitude. Experimental upgrades, to enhance the control of potential systematic errors and increase the number of detected molecules, are described. We give an overview of the characterization and suppression of systematic errors below the statistical sensitivity.
