Nuclear Parton Density Functions (nPDFs) describe the behavior of partons inside bounded nucleons. As it happens with proton PDFs, their precise determination is crucial for the proper understanding of the perturbative regime of QCD and serve as a tool to identify novel effects. However, due to the small amount of data available, we are far from having a complete understanding of the gluon in all the kinematical space covered by experiments. In this talk I will explain in detail what are nPDFs, how they are obtained, what we know about the quarks and gluons on a nuclear medium and discuss the impact of present and future facilities on the determination of nPDFs.
