Description

Agnes Mocsy

The discoveries and wonder of science have great capacity to inspire. I will discuss how as a physicist and professor at an art and design institute, I have been able to share that inspiration with students and faculty from diverse backgrounds and use it to build cross-sections between the physics and art world. Driving these efforts is my desire to find new ways to communicate important lessons from science and advocate for a more evidenced-based approach to solving problems in society. I argue that by breaking down barriers between art and science, and by finding more diverse mediums to communicate science, including fashion, fine arts, design, and film, we can better propagate a scientific way of seeing our world.
